Haldwani. These days, preparations for the civic elections are in full swing in Uttarakhand. Although the election date has not been announced yet, seats have been allotted category wise. After the announcement of reservation of seats, leaders are also submitting their claims for the elections from their respective areas. Names of different future candidates are coming out from different political organizations. Many names are also shocking. In this series, on Wednesday from Haldwani of Nainital district, active member of Bharatiya Janata Party and former Mrs. Uttarakhand Abha Goswami has also presented her claim for the post of Mayor.
Abha Goswami held a press conference in a restaurant located on Rampur Road, Haldwani. She told that she has given government service in the Rural Development Department from 2014 to 2022. Presently she is the president of an organization named Pahal. His organization works for the rights, welfare and rehabilitation of abandoned animals. She told that she had also participated in beauty contests earlier. She became Mrs. Uttarakhand in the year 2022. After this, in the year 2023, she has also represented the state in the Mrs. India World Competition in Colombo city of Sri Lanka. Abha Goswami said that if the party gives her the ticket, she will contest the elections with full dedication and will carry the ideology of the party.
Leaders stake claim on mayor ticket
On the other hand, many party leaders including BJP leader Mohan Giri Goswami from Haldwani, OBC District President Nanhe Kashyap from Nainital have also sought ticket for the post of Mayor from the party. Business leader Naveen Verma has also joined BJP. He is also a contender for the ticket. On his claim, Mohan Giri Goswami said that he has been active in political and social work since student politics. Have always worked honestly for the party and organization. They also take active part in social and religious activities. State level 15-point committee member Dr ZA Warsi has also sought ticket from BJP for the mayor elections. He said that he has presented his claim in the party forum. The decision has to be taken by the party leadership.
