Delhi-Dehradun Expressway will start in January. After the opening of the expressway, the distance from Delhi to Mussoorie will increase by 50 kilometers.
Dehradun: The work of Delhi Dehradun Expressway has almost been completed and it is believed that vehicles will start running on this expressway from the month of January. But as soon as this highway is built, the traffic problem in the capital will increase, for which the Traffic Directorate has now prepared a plan. With the opening of this expressway, the time to reach Dehradun from Delhi will now be only two and a half to three hours. This will also affect the number of tourists and the number of tourists visiting Mussoorie is expected to increase this winter itself.
With the opening of the expressway, there will be pressure of 25 thousand vehicles every day!
Usually, there is a movement of 10 to 15 thousand vehicles in Mussoorie during weekends or tourist season, but as soon as this highway is ready, this figure can reach 20 to 25 thousand, which can create a traffic jam in the capital. To avoid this problem, the Traffic Directorate has prepared a special plan. Under this, tourists will now have to cover an additional distance of 50 km to go to Mussoorie.
What is the traffic plan?
A traffic plan has already been prepared by the Traffic Directorate, so that if there is a sudden increase in the number of vehicles after the opening of the expressway, then tourists will be sent to Mussoorie from outside the city and will be returned from there. . If outside vehicles do not enter the city, the city residents will not have to face problems. Besides, the traffic which is already under pressure will also get relief.
Know which will be the path?
Traffic coming from the expressway and going to Mussoorie will be diverted from Dehradun ISBT towards Shimla bypass. After this, via Telpur Chowk, we will reach Mussoorie via Nayagaon, Singhaniwala, Dhulkot, Bhauwala Chowk, Manduwala, Pondha, Aamwala Chowk, Kaulagarh Chowk, Lemonwala, Garhi Cantt, Supply Chowki, Kimadi, LBS Academy. The traffic coming back from Mussoorie will reach Jogiwala Tiraha via Bhatta Tiraha via Kirsali Chowk, IT Park, Sahastradhara Crossing, culvert number six. This entire plan has been made one-way.
This new route will be put on GPS
In this case, Director Traffic Arun Mohan Joshi says that most of the tourists coming from outside reach their station through Google Map. In such a situation, only this route from Asharodi to Mussoorie will be put on the GPS. Google Map from Asharodi will show the same route to reach Mussoorie. Policemen will be deployed at various places to maintain arrangements. Tourists will be sent to Mussoorie on this route mainly by installing barriers from Asharodi, ISBT and Shimla Bypass Chowk. If any tourist comes forward by giving wrong information, he will be sent to Mussoorie from Niranjanpur Chowk via Balliwala flyover.
Barricading and lighting remain to be installed at many places
If the road needs to be widened or improved anywhere, it will be rectified by the Traffic Directorate with the help of the National Highway. Road widening, barricading and lighting arrangements are to be done at many places, which are being marked. Soon work will be done in this direction also. In future, if bridges or flyovers are built at some places, the length of the route will be further reduced.
