In a heart-wrenching incident from Bichhuahi village in Banda’s Chilla police station area, a middle-aged man, Nandlal Singh (52), ended his life by shooting himself after financial issues related to his alcohol addiction. According to his family, Nandlal had been dealing with long-term financial difficulties and a dependency on alcohol.
Reports indicate that about ten years ago, he sold his land and house and had since been working as a sharecropper, cultivating others’ fields. Recently, he sold his buffalo for Rs 38,000, leading to tension within the family. On Friday, he demanded money from his son, threatening suicide if he did not receive it. Although his son gave him Rs 4,000, Nandlal later went to a field and used an illegal weapon to take his life near a tube well.
Upon receiving the information early Saturday morning, police officials, led by CO Ajay Kumar Singh, arrived at the scene, investigated, and sent the body for postmortem. Authorities are now conducting further legal action related to this tragic event.
