Two teenagers who had gone fishing in a village in Kannauj had drowned in the river. One body was recovered, while the other child went missing in the water, for whose search an SDRF team was called on Thursday. Police force and villagers at the spot during search of teenager in the river

The incident took place between Kapurpur Katri and Tulapurwa villages of Sadar Kotwali area. Here on Wednesday, Shobhit, a resident of Ramai Bagiya village, had reached the banks of Kali river for fishing with his aunt’s son Karan and friend Shiv. All three started bathing in the river, during which Karan and Shobhit started drowning after going into deep water. When Shiva raised an alarm, the villagers started trying to save him.
Karan’s body was taken out of the water late in the evening, but Shobhit could not be found anywhere. The search was stopped as it was night. On Thursday morning, the police called the SDRF team to search for the teenager. The team members started searching for Shobhit in the river. During this time, police force and villagers along with Kotwali in-charge Kapil Dubey remained standing at the spot.
SP arrived to console the family On getting information about the drowning of children in the Kali river, on Thursday morning, some party leaders and workers along with SP District President Kaleem Khan reached the spot. Here he met the families of the teenagers and consoled them and assured them of all possible help.
